Mike Spangler

Mike has lived in the Lakeville area for more than 20 years, where he and his wife, Bev, raised their two children.  He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Mathematics & Computer Science degree and spent the first 30 years of his career as a senior leader in the healthcare / information technology field.  Mike and Bev transitioned their personal finances to Excel Financial back in 2010 and were immediately impressed with Excel’s approach and competence.  About the same time, Mike began to volunteer as a financial coach, initially facilitating Financial Peace University (adults) and Generation Change (youth) personal finance programs based on materials from (Dave) Ramsey Solutions ®.  What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, leading Mike to pursue and achieve the designation of a Ramsey Solutions Master Financial Coach.  Additionally, Mike is a Certified Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC ®).  Mike and Bev are active at their church, where Mike serves as the Financial Secretary.  They enjoy traveling to spend time with their adult children and anything that involves being outdoors.
